(Another old pic, done in oil pastels and Conte crayons.) The End of the World will be both a beautiful and terrifying thing..."I watched as the angel opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place." (Rev. 6:12-14) The decending, shining Dove is symbolic of the Second Coming--of hope and salvation amidst the storm, the destruction and chaos of the Apocalypse.
Edit: bought the original from me, so I touched it up (if you can call completely recoloring it and adding lots of new details "touching-up"), then took a better photo of it and reuploaded.
Hmm, indeed. It will be wonderful and horrible at the same time, but I for one am very excited for it to happen.
This is a fantastic rendition of the Apocalypse, as well. I love the colors that you used and the way it's composed. Very awesome!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
