Celtic Valentine by swandog Celtic Valentine by swandog
A spur-of-the-moment Valentine's Day commission/trade for :iconillahie: and her mate, Chester Ringtail. She wanted to pay me for this "sketch" (which I decided to ink), but I wouldn't let her because she managed to get me a copy of Loreena McKennitt's new CD...SIGNED by Loreena. :faint: Graywolf is awesome in a nutshell, she is!! :D   *squeelove* (Hope she likes this!) :)

P.S. The shamrock knot was referenced from a pendant I saw, but all the rest was from my imagination. :)

If I could find this as a real pendant, I would SO BUY IT! It would be so beautiful cast in silver or gold!

Your knots are really something... Course I already knew this but I'm going through some faves on an older account xD Just thought I'd say something in case I haven't before. You're definitely an inspiration!

Your knotwork always blows me away! :) It's so smooth and your lines are so clean. Your designs are so beautiful and faithful to traditional Celtic designs, while still putting your own personality into them.

...and a signed copy of a Loreena McKennitt CD...I would faint. I saw her perform her in Atlanta in a place called the Fabulous Fox Theatre, which is a very old theatre designed in an old Middle Eastern style. The ceiling has a soft, gradual blue light that gives the appearance and feel of evening. There are even 'stars' in the ceiling. Loreena said at the beginning of her performance, "I wish we could take this venue with us!" Since it fit the mood of her music so well.

Here's a picture of it: [link] That is an inside venue. That's really a ceiling! :D

I really admire anybody who can do this. I've been trying to do some celtic animals and it's difficult.
