Pumice Remembersby ~swandog

Traditional Art / Drawings / Fantasy

(A pic I did a long time ago as an illustration to a book I've been writing.) Satyrs live a long time and Pumice is no exception. He is now very old, and all the friends and enemies of his youth are long gone, but still he often takes time to reflect upon all the memories, both good and bad. The other characters are: Sperrylite the white gryphon, Feldspar the faun, Topaz the unicorn, Ophite the dragon (slain by Feldspar and made into a skin), the Firewyrm (aka the Devil), Spinel the Great Elk, and Pumice's temporary rat form. The top circle is an eclipse and the bottom one is their world, "Celesterramere", with its various continents. The middle continent is "Tourmaline", which has several hidden shapes in its shoreline. (The "TB" stands for "Tiffany Barfield", my pre-Orthodox/maiden name.)

Edit: OMG!! I can't believe I actually got a DD--and on a pic a did back in 1988!!! O____o But thank you SO very much, ~art-nouveau and ^oedalis!!! (BTW, prints of this image are available; please note me if interested--thanks!)

Truly phenomenal... you blew me away with this one. =} I cannot believe it's 20 years old. Wow... as an aspiring writer with an unfinished book on the line for many years myself, may I ask how is yours coming?
